"LOL" merely goes to prove that Cheap Trick are back to their Glory Days and remain an underrated force in the UK. With the original lineup back together again, completed by the return of bassist Tom Peterson, their flame has undoubtedly been rekindled. continues > BSVs Index 540 Fanzine 545 NATWEST LIVE ACTION CONCERT SERIES SEE PAGE 293 (exc Scotland & Ireland) Fanzine Starfile Feature Buzz

Robin Zander's vocals remain as powerful and emotive as ever, ably supported by the ever-present Rick Nielson (guitars) and Bun E. Carlos (drums). The band show they can still rock out with the best on "All Wound Up" and "Wrong Side Of Love". In short, Cheap Trick are the finest band in their genre and totally deserve every penny they will reap when "Lap Of Luxury" hits mega-platinum status in America. by JAMES CARR, Dur——n The Wedding Present > BSVs Index 540 Fanzine 545 Fanzine Starfile Feature Buzz

Instead I find, having queued (yes, queued!) to obtain my copy of "Tommy" in Bolton on a rainswept Saturday that, far from being a follow up, the album is in fact a compilation of the many excellent tracks produced in pre-George Best days. more Wedding Present > BSVs Index 540 Fanzine 545 Fanzine Starfile Feature Buzz

The tracks are for the most part very good and form a compact replacement for my collection of Wedding Present music of dubious legality, taped from Mr Peel's festive fifties. However, why on earth repeat two of the tracks on "George Best" (the excellent "My Favourite Dress" and "It's What You Want That Matters" - renalfd for some reason "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted")? Admittedly they're ever so slightly different but surely there was enough material available to avoid having to do this. continues > BSVs Index 540 Fanzine 545 Fanzine Starfile Feature Buzz

To be fair, tracks such as "Felicity" and "You Should Always Keep In Touch With Your Friends" deserve an album which they can call home and the whole package - poster and all - costs a mere four-and-a-half quid. However, the world's least complex pop group, as they bill themselves on the inner sleeve, have left me much as I was before Saturday. Eagerly awaiting a new album from my favourite band. by S DVE of Hindsford near Atherton near Bolton near Manchester! review! > BSVs Index 540 Fanzine 545 Fanzine Starfile Feature Buzz
