On Friday 28th January, Metal Box PLC announced that over 20% of their work- force at their Hackney Branch - 170 out of a total workforce of 538 - is to be declared redundant. These redundancies come on top of the 1170 fobs lost in my constituency with the closure of Lesney Matchbox Toys fust a few weeks ago.
