P432 ORACLE 432 Sun15 Mar ITV 2149:56  A  1/2   N  D  NEWS F2OM THE NATIONAL FARMERS' UNION British Glasshouse growers need Excheqeur aid towards heating costs of between £7 million and £8 million to offset gas price subsidies of up to 40% which are given to Dutch growers. This was the message given to Minister of Agriculture Peter Walker by Richard Butler President of thf NFU when he led a delegation of growers to the Ministry of Agriculture. MrN Butler said the Glasshouse section had an output of £165 million a year and employed 20,000 Dutch growers received a cost benefit of £10,000 an acre through government aid. more follows >
