Wray made King Kong in 1933. But it is for one of her lesser-known films, The Wedding March, that she is appearing at the London Film Festival this month. She will introduce a screening of a restored print, with a new score by Carl Davis to be performed by the London Philharmonic. ——————————————————————————————————1/6—— by Victor Olliver NOW IT'S EVEN EASIER TO FIND LOVE: TELETEXT DATING ITV p390 Film Videos Local films Teens

The film's star, Fay Wray, says of director Erich Von Stroheim: "He was not the whip-cracking Teuton he was reputed to be. "He was very genteel, immaculately dressed and considerate." Stroheim also plays the aristocratic officer forced into loveless marriage by his family. ——————————————————————————————————2/6—— Movie reviews 463 Video reviews 464 IN-DEPTH TAROT READINGS p623 Film Videos Local films Teens

She was won over when told she would co-star with the "tallest, darkest leading man in Hollywood". This turned out to be King Kong himself - just an 18 inch model. At 92, Wray is still a prolific writer. She recently completed a book of film essays, her play The Meadowlark was staged in New Hampshire this summer and her new play is Bring Me The Baby. ——————————————————————————————————3/6—— Movie letters 466 Competitions 465 NOW IT'S EVEN EASIER TO FIND LOVE: TELETEXT DATING ITV p390 Film Videos Local films Teens

The festival will end with a gala screening of Warren Beatty's latest movie, Bulworth, on November 19. Like Primary Colors and Wag The Dog, it's a Clintonesque political satire. But with the President apparently off the hook, and voters unmoved by White House scandal, is Bulworth redundant? Though critics are hailing the movie as Beatty's best in 20 years, it is hard to see what it can say about political corruption that's new. ——————————————————————————————————4/6—— On Stage 450 It's Your Life 410 NOW IT'S EVEN EASIER TO FIND LOVE: TELETEXT DATING ITV p390 Film Videos Local films Teens

Beatty's Bulworth is a senator who decides to tell the unvarnished truth on his re-election campaign. He denounces media moguls for turning out porn, insurance companies for greed and tells black audiences that white politicians will do nothing for them. Corporations are the true leaders of the US, says Bulworth. It's a great movie for many reasons, but it fails to say anything about political scandal that's not been said already of late. ——————————————————————————————————5/6—— Festival booking information >>> NOW IT'S EVEN EASIER TO FIND LOVE: TELETEXT DATING ITV p390 Film Videos Local films Teens
