School inspectors drafted into the Ridings School in Halifax will not "point the finger of blame" Chief Inspector Chris Woodhead has promised. His team of senior inspectors will spend three days at Ridings and will pay full regard to the difficulties the school faces. If inspectors find The Ridings School to be "failing" its pupils they will demand an action plan from school governors and Calderdale LEA. Only if the action plan failed to produce the improvements needed would inspectors recommend the next step. This could be the establishment of a "hit squad" - an education association to run the school instead of the LEA.
