It's also the name of the scarum-o- author whose tales provide the plots for the bulk of Infogrames' adventures. Prisoner of Ice is firmly in this noble tradition, being a fog-cloaked point- and-clicker with intelligent puzzles and plenty of death. ——————————————————————————————————1/3—— Cee Cee 476 Bee Bee 450 Gee 620 CHEAP CONSOLE GAMES PAGE 396 (ITV) Gen Next Comp-o-Tips Letters Bamber

In between access sighs you will witness a 1937 tale of horrible sea monsters nicked from the Nazis. The action kicks off on a Royal Navy sub, and proceeds via the Falklands (hoo!), Buenos Aires and Illsmouth again) to an Inca-esque denouement. ——————————————————————————————————2/3—— Club 12 440 Club Nude 473 DON'T YOU WANT TO WIN BRUTAL? p473 Gen Next Comp-o-Tips Letters Bamber

Gabriel...Knight. It's straightforward roam-room-with- mouse stuff, with satisfyingly logical puzzles and decent audio-visuals. Decent, but not stunning - even in optional SVGA mode (in which our copy repeatedly crashed) some of the animation is a little wooden compared to the Full Throttles of this world. ——————————————————————————————————3/3—— Cee Cee 476 Bee Bee 450 Gee 620 CHEAP CONSOLE GAMES PAGE 396 (ITV) Gen Next Comp-o-Tips Letters Bamber

Firstly, the game's military background robs it of some of the lonely atmosphere of earlier Lovecraft adaptations - it's all a bit too Ain't Half Hot Mum. Also, it's fust a bit qnadventurous.
