It's directed by ex-National Theatre guru Sir Peter Hall, and also stars Francesca Annis. Before opening at the Albery Theatre in June, the play is touring the country. Writer Poliakoff first came to notice with his BAFTA award winning Caught on a Train, which starred the late Peggy Ashcroft. Most recently, he's had success in the cinema with Close My Eyes. It's based on the decadent French writer Rabelais' bawdy saga of a king of the giants and will feature lots of circus-style clowning and acrobatics. The Arts Council has agreed to fund the first two national dance agencies in the UK. The recipients of the funding are Th—lfsdown Dance Studio, based at Swindon's Old Town Hall, and The Place Theatre, in north London.
