In 1981 only eight per cent of a driver's total motoring expenditure went on insurance. Today the outlay for cover is more like 14 per cent. Hard to believe but petrol spending has fallen from 58% of the total to 43%. The facts were revealed in the AA's Great British Motorist Report. It went on to show that parking, oil and road tax account for a fifth of the average £1,400 annual running costs. more > Diversions 610 Gardening 612 Gardening Home Style Recipe Reviews

While unleaded fuel prices this week in Britain were about £2.07 a gallon, in Belgium it was around £2.27, in France £2.43, in Holland £2.76 and in Italy it's a whopping £3.13. Best advice if you are going abroad is to fill up before you leave! Experts say the prices here reflect a recent rise of one penny a litre by the oil giants. A price cut is due soon. more > Diversions 610 Gardening 612 Gardening Home Style Recipe Reviews
