P524 ORACLE 524 Sat25 Apr C4 2101:10   MIDLAND BID TALK  RISES TO NEW PITCH Lloyds Bank is keeping the Midland takeover saga on the boil after failing to rule out the possibility it will enter the bidding, analysts say. Speculation that Lloyds could next week step in to rival the Hong Kong HSBC's £3.3bn offer for the British clearer is reaching new heights. "The longer this goes on the more likely it is they will bid," Smith New Court broker Michael Lever said.
