DCC Beattie of Ruislip, Middlesex thinks it a shame that they are not. As he points out: "Millions watch the news but few would say it was their favourite programme. As to Bea Arthur's departure from the show, she has left (amicably) simply to do something different. P404 ORACLE 404 Sat25 Apr C4 2100:12 ££ 4-Tel        Eileen Oldridge, who describes herself as "very OAP - 78", is still at the cutting edge of viewing: "I am absolutely hooked on The Sword Of Tipu Sultan." Unfortunately, some callers "who would not be put off" caused her to miss the second part of a recent episode. But, she adds optimistically, "maybe there are plans to reshow the whole series..?" Surely no-one can forget the act that was beaten into second place on New Faces by Roger de Courcy and Nookie the Bear. Mr G Roberts of Barrow-in-Furness is convinced he saw the future Ron Dixon of Brookside Close about 15 years ago in the Granada show The Comedians. Well, he's quite right. In 1977 Vince disbanded his group and went for a solo career as a comic. Writing from Waterloo Road, Blackpool, he says: "I would like to say how much I admire the Wonder Years. I watch it every week. This, along with Dream On and TV Heaven, has made it a pleasure to stay in and watch C4. Well done! Keep up the good work."
