"This story's about a girl called Angela left on a doorstep with a thank-you letter from Clara Du Ctoun. "Angela's teeth were very pointed and when she was seven she asked for a haloween party. She dressed up as a vampire and looked just like oneb. Clara Du Ctoun turns out to be Count Dracula - Angela's real dad! He arrives at the party determined to steal Angela back from her lovely step-parents. pub. Heinemann £2.50 More Chess Leisure 2 gn' 9s MoneyFile

The book is occasionally funny but more usually weakly amusing which, while praise indeed for some authors, is disappointing of Mr Newby. His wife provides many of the funniest moments but it seems harsh to laugh at a couple brave enough to contemplate a cycling holiday in winter even with the advantage of a 40-year marriage! Pub. Group pictures include the odd Asian and Afro-Caribbean person but the new naughty sister looks a lot less stroppy than in the old books. The story is about her fear of funny old men with white beards and red suits and her awful behaviour when one comes to visit the children at school. pub.
