The company now builds about 500 limousines a year by stretching the chassis of a production vehicle and fitting it with luxury trimmings. In this case Granadas are extended by up to three feet and raised four inches. Prices for the latest range vary from £23,000 for the Dorchester to £27,000 for the Grosvenor. Six-door and diesel engined models are planned.  More

The "syncro" range uses a sensing system which activates the front axle when the wheels start to slip. A special crawler gear and locking front and rear differentials are included for off-road work. No action is required by the driver to activate the "syncro" and VW says maintenance is the same as conventional versions of the vehicles.  More

With five-speed transmission the 1.4 engine, which can run on lead-free petrol, gives the Fiesta a top speed of 102mph and returns 32.5mpg on the urban cycle. It develops 75bhp at 5,600rpm and the car accelerates from 0-60mph in 10.8 seconds. The new engine is being built at Bridgend in south Wales and reflectc Ford's belief that the Budget in March will mention new "tax break" limits.  More
