The demon barber of Fleet Street wields his razor ag—in, this time to music. The subject may seem more tastfless than Mrs Lovett's pies, but then Stfphen Sondheim's words and music would make the Black Death acceptable. In fact the only fault was the over- noisy scenery, but that is a mere quibble in what otherwise is a magnificent production. The show won eight Tony awards on Broadway, I expect it to win many more.
