Two men in the north east are claiming damages against their engineering firm. They claim that, due to ears of exposure to excessive noise, t ey became progressively deaf. Also that their employers should have provided some form of ear protection. The QC appearing for the men said that British Rail was one of the principal defendants but cases in the north east included "many many thousands" of claims against ship repairers.
