There is such an array from which to choose, gifts for the racing man/woman should not present shoppers with any problems. There are books on Lester Piggott, Frankie Dettori, David Nicholson, plus various annuals that would be happily accepted in any household. I have selected four titles that I personally would be delighted to see in my Christmas stocking on December 25. A-Z Guide Duke Comp Nicholson Adv.Going

Smith's quite superb photography takes you from Kempton to Galway and the Capannelle, from Bombay to Beverley, Cheltenham to Royal Ascot and Belmont. Holt's witticisms are well worth a read as he recalls many of the incidents and highlights of the racing year. Aptly, there is an impressive picture of Frankie and Lammtarra on the front of the dustcover, while Ridgewood Pearl's triumph is captured on the back  A-Z Guide Duke Comp Nicholson Adv.Going

'The Duke' has made his mark in the Racing Post as the author of racing's most controversial racing column. Most personalities tend to pull their punches; not so 'The Duke,' who seems to thrive on telling it how it is, or how he thinks it is. Powell has done a good job in moulding the story into a fascinating tale of one man's obvious passion for the racing game.  A-Z Guide Duke Comp Nicholson Adv.Going
