The city centre project organised by Cardiff Action for Single Homeless catered for 120 people and also provided beds and small gifts. Workers have experienced a rise in the number of people using the shelter who are homeless due to repossession. It is part of a network of 29 homeless centres being set up over the holiday period by the charity Crisis.  Home 110 Flash 150 Diary 180 Politics 130 World 160 Despatch 190 UserGuide Home News Politics Main News

Burglars stole all the 75-year-old woman's presents from under the Christmas tree along with her television, festive food and drink. Detectives condemned the crime as "absolutely appalling." The wrapped presents were for herself and relatives. Cash and rosary beads were also taken from her home in Archer Road on the Ely estate.  Home 110 Flash 150 Diary 180 Politics 130 World 160 Despatch 190 UserGuide Home News Politics Main News

The Welsh Economic Review from Cardiff Business School says support for training schemes at small companies are welcome but more needs to be done. The report backs concern from firms such as Panasonic, warning that pupils must have training and education available for technical occupations. The review says not all pupils should be pushed down purely academic routes.  Home 110 Flash 150 Diary 180 Politics 130 World 160 Despatch 190 UserGuide Home News Politics Main News

At 53%, it is more than twice the national average and also above the average of 31% in forces of similar size. The inspectors also praised the partnership between full-time officers and the network of special constables.  Home 110 Flash 150 Diary 180 Politics 130 World 160 Despatch 190 UserGuide Home News Politics Main News
