P111 CEEFAX 111 Sat 29 Oct 21:40/11       An extension of police breath-testing powers is likely in the New Year, a senior civil servant has said. Mr Peter Pugh, of the Home Office, told the annual conference of the Campaign Against Drink Driving that a Government announcement was likely. The Government was looking at evidence from chief police officers and others on the need for random breath-testing, and the Department of Transport was considering related proposals, he said.
