P108 CEEFAX 108 Sat 29 Oct 21:40/01       The Italian artist Pietro Annigoni, who painted portraits of royalty and world leaders, has died in hospital in Florence at the age of 78. Annigoni came to London after the Second World War and came to public notice in 1955 with his portrait of the Queen. Much of his final years were spent painting much-acclaimed religious frescoes in FlorenceN He once said he would like to be remembered as an honest painter who did as he believed.
